Chinese New Year Festival & Market Day 新春花市同乐日演出
As the Chinese New Year approaches, various activities to welcome the Lunar New Year are in full swing, bringing an increasingly festive atmosphere. On the 18th of January 2020, the Chinese New Year Festival & Market Day was held at the ASB Showgrounds, attended by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Chinese Ambassador Wu Xi, and other distinguished guests. The event is one of the largest events in New Zealand to celebrate the Spring Festival, with a history spanning over 30 years. Zheng’s Music Studio was honoured to be invited to perform in the opening ceremony, bringing traditional Chinese music performances on the guzheng to the Chinese community in New Zealand.
In this performance, Zheng’s Music Studio carefully selected five lively and bright pieces to complement the New Year theme and enhance the festive atmosphere. Under the expectant gaze of the audience, the students of the studio successively performed Purple Bamboo Melody, Shandan Blossoms Blooming Red, New Song of Dongting, By the Yili River, and Spring is Coming. These pieces all express the joy of people from different regions of China celebrating a wonderful life, adding a festive touch to the Chinese New Year Festival & Market Day.
As the Year of the Pig comes to an end, we sincerely thank all the friends who have supported, accompanied, and grown with the guzheng over the past year. We are also grateful to the parents and children for their hard work and dedication. In the new year, the Zheng’s Music Studio wishes everyone good luck and happiness in the Year of the Rat!
春节临近，各种迎接中国农历新年的活动纷至沓来，年味也随之越来越浓。2020年1月18日，新春花市同乐日活动在 ASB Showgrounds 隆重举行，新西兰总理Jacinda Arden, 中国驻新西兰大使吴玺等嘉宾出席了本次活动。新春花市同乐日是新西兰规模最大的迎新春活动之一，已有超过30年的历史。新西兰筝乐工作室有幸受邀参加了本次开幕式，为广大新西兰华人同胞带来中国传统音乐演奏——古筝表演。
在本次演出中，筝乐工作室特意选择了五首欢快明朗的曲目以衬托新春主题，烘托喜庆的节日氛围。在观众们期待的目光中，筝乐工作室的学生们相继演奏了《紫竹调》、《山丹丹开花红艳艳》、《洞庭新歌》、《伊犁河畔》、《春天来了》。这些曲目皆表达了中国不同地区的人民共贺美好生活的喜悦之情，为同乐日活动现场增添了一份年味。
己亥猪年即将过去，在过去的一年中，衷心感谢一直关注、支持与陪伴筝乐共同成长的朋友们，感谢家长和孩子们不辞辛苦的付出与努力。在新的一年， 新西兰筝乐工作室恭祝大家吉祥“鼠”于你，“鼠”到福运来！
